Talk
There's a lot of talk about crack cocaine in the black american community. It is an interesting issue because there is blame on all sides. One can blame the latin american drug lords, the CIA, and ultimately, the black community. While it's true the CIA played a part in creating and distributing crack cocaine, at no point in time did they actually force people to smoke crack cocaine.
This resulted largely from an impoverished, nihlistic, and thoroughly toxic culture. The fix for this is not 'say no to drugs', 'brighter smiles' or even a 'head start'. Exhorting a lost group to achieve academically, socially, and politically is not enough. One must understand the toxic culture at it's roots and attack it. Celebrating rap music or kwanzaa in schools is no solution. Soft-pedaling on hard facts and allowing excuses to take the place of success are being done by the government, corporations, and even individual whites to the detriment of blacks.
